About Us
The Chicago Fund, founded in 2025, after the transition of Medical Home Network (MHN) to a Public Benefit Corporation, carries forward our purpose working with partners to improve community health. We are a not-for-profit that invests primarily with Chicagoland nonprofit organizations and local governmental agencies to improve healthcare quality, access and equity.
At a time when federal and state funding shortfalls are widening, we help fund the gaps to address emergency and urgent public health issues that disproportionately impact under-resourced communities.
With essential investments and partners who bring passion and innovation, we believe that long-standing health issues that Chicago faces including lead poisoning, higher rates of maternal morbidity and mortality and undertreated mental health can be remediated and in the case of lead poisoning, eliminated.
